Horacio Bobadilla, aka HOB, began studying classical piano at age 10 with the Sinfónica Juvenil de Bogotá (Bogotá Youth Symphony) and went on to university at Universidad El Bosque, where he studied jazz piano with an emphasis on composition. In 2008 he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to study Music Production and Electronic Music Production at EMBA (Buenos Aires School of Music); there he worked as a sound engineer at several studios, including Panda Estudios.
In 2013 he was part of Duina del Mar's first US tour at the SXSW festival. He has worked as a keyboardist, tour manager and live sound engineer on several US tours by major artists such as La Ley and Alejandro Sanz, among others.
His personal experiences are the raw material of the sonic journey: from the ancestral to rhythms and basslines made for dancing.
Since 2014 he has led the HOB project, where he develops his concept of live electronic music production. He has performed at venues across Mexico and Colombia, sharing the stage with artists such as Adana Twins, Keene and Claptone. He has produced and performed with acts including La Payara, Pol Moreno Live, María Mulata, Duina del Mar and South People, among others.
He has taught at EMM (Escuela Moderna de Música — Modern School of Music) since 2014 in Electronic Music Production, Piano and Composition, and is part of its record label. He has also taught Electronic Music Production in the AED and EMP programs at SAE Institute Bogotá, and is preparing the release of his next record.
